
Liven Mutokosi is the current Programmes Manager of Esteemed Children Trust, wherein he is managing and coordinating high level impact child focused programmingincluding Child-Sponsorship, Educational Empowerment, Health and Nutrition and Psycho-Social Support Services. His management efforts are aiming at alleviating poverty and hunger among the Orphans and Vulnerable children in urban communities and enhance, by facilitation, an equal chance to life opportunities to these vulnerable children. Liven has outstanding advocacy, policy analysis, coordination and engagement skills which enables him to effectively and efficiently discharge his roles. Apart from the above, he is an accomplished multi-skilled governance and public policy specialist with a proven record ofdeveloping and implementing policies, processes, strategies and systems related to advocacy, child rights, child protection, gender mainstreaming and development. He has worked with a number of child focused organisations and development partnersin the field of research, advocacy and child rights and protection, both, at national and at regional level, spearheading high level regional researches intending to promote child rights and policyadvocacy. He was part of a team of forty experts from Southern Africa who spearheaded the Child Rights Barometer for Southern Africa Phase one, from 2017 to 2018, specialising on child sexual abuse, Juvenile justice administration and child protection policy implementation. He is so passionate about child protection and child rights, especially child sexual abuse and child marriages in Zimbabwe and beyond. Currently, he is undertaking a Doctoral research with the University of Western Cape, South Africa, on the implications of religious and traditional establishments or dogmas on child sexual abuse and child marriages in Zimbabwe.
