Tinotenda Mukosi Mtize is born in a family of four comprising one girl and three boys. This seemingly challenging journey began at a tender age of 15 when she was still in primary school. She always had a heart for the needy and empathised with their predicament.
She joined the Brownies Movement in 2002, where we often contributed money for onward distribution to needy children country wide. Later she joined the Girl Guides Movement and our motto was “lend a hand.” As a movement, they initiated various strategies of helping the needy and vulnerable children in the school. She gave away old clothes that would be donated to the needy and orphaned children in the school. She still recalls how the movement made a lasting impression to her with regards to charity work.
During college at the Midlands State University (MSU), she became a Peer Educator and predominant amongst our modus operandi was getting to distribute basic commodities to Aids Orphaned Children on a regular basis. After graduating from college, she worked with Tariro House of Hope in Epworth in Harare as a Program and Administrative Assistant.
Her stint at Tariro gave her joy since it exposed her to the challenges and realities that orphaned and vulnerable children grapple with on a daily basis as well as the mitigating interventions that welfare organisations make to cater for the plight of orphaned and vulnerable children. This brought joy to her heart given that she was directly involved in an area she had a deep passion for.
Her endeavour, zeal, and quest are to see children’s lives being fully transformed. Currently works a Business Consultant. She is a Board of Trustee for Esteemed Children. It is her utmost hope and sincerity to work together tirelessly with her fellow board members, to foster a brighter future for the orphaned and vulnerable children. Tinotenda is married to Terry Mtize and they were blessed with a baby girl, Ropafadzo Mtize.
